Bechamel Sauce Recipe
This recipe for Bechamel Sauce serves 4 people.
Time required: 15 minutes
(5 minutes to prepare, then cook for 10 minutes)
Ingredients you'll need:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 ½ cups of milk, full cream
- 2 tbsp plain flour
- 1 pinch of ground nutmeg, or more - to taste
How to make Bechamel Sauce:
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the flour and stir for 3 minutes, or until thick. Slowly add the milk and stir constantly until the sauce is smooth. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, or until the sauce is smooth and thick. Season to taste with a little nutmeg, salt and pepper.
